  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 6 chicken hamburger buns, torn into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup dill pickles, chopped
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 8 slices American cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat and add diced onion and minced garlic; cook until onions are translucent.
  2. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Let simmer on low for 5 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, combine torn hamburger buns with melted butter and sesame seeds until coated.
  4. Mix mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, mustard, vinegar, sugar, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder in another bowl to create the special sauce.
  5. In a greased casserole dish, layer half of the bun mixture, followed by half of the meat mixture and half of the special sauce. Repeat layers.
  6. Top with shredded cheddar cheese and American cheese slices.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 30 minutes until bubbly.
