  • ¾ cup (165 g) brown sugar
  • ¼ cup (50 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • ½ tablespoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cups (175 g) all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup (80 g) Heath toffee bits with chocolate
  • Flaked sea salt for topping

Instructions

  1. Brown the unsalted butter in a saucepan until golden and nutty. Cool and refrigerate until firm.
  2. Beat the cooled butter with both sugars until light and fluffy.
  3. Incorporate the egg and vanilla extract into the mixture.
  4. Mix in baking powder, baking soda, salt, and flour until just combined.
  5. Fold in toffee bits evenly throughout the dough.
  6. Scoop dough onto parchment-lined sheets and chill for at least 2 hours.
