  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/3 cup hot pepper jelly
  • Fresh thyme leaves or chopped parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth.
  2. Mix in shredded cheddar until combined, then add flour, salt, and optional garlic powder; mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Chill the dough for 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. Roll the chilled dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the sheet about 2 inches apart. Press a thumbprint into each ball.
  6. Fill each thumbprint with about 1/2 teaspoon of hot pepper jelly.
  7. Bake for 13–15 minutes until golden brown.
