  • 1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 2/3 cup butter (for caramel)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (for caramel)
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour and brown sugar. Cut in the cold butter until crumbly, then press into the prepared pan.
  3. Evenly sprinkle pecan halves over the crust.
  4. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and brown sugar for caramel, stirring until bubbling (about one minute). Pour over the crust and pecans.
  5. Bake for 18-20 minutes until golden brown. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top; spread evenly as they melt.
  6. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
