  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 34 tablespoons milk or cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for icing
  • Pinch of salt for icing (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add eggs one at a time and mix in vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg (if using), and salt; gradually add to wet ingredients until just combined.
