  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 cups uncooked macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 3/4 cup milk (divided)
  • 1 large egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine ground beef, onion, breadcrumbs, egg, 1/4 cup milk, salt, and pepper. Mix well and press into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. Bake meatloaf for about 20 minutes.
  4. Cook macaroni per package instructions; drain and set aside.
  5. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour, cooking for one minute. Gradually whisk in remaining milk until thickened. Add salt, pepper, paprika, dry mustard, and cheese until melted.
  6. Combine cooked macaroni with cheese sauce and pour over baked meatloaf. Top with remaining cheese.
  7. Bake for another 25 minutes until bubbly.
