  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup crispy cooked turkey bacon, crumbled
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 12 lasagna noodles, cooked al dente
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Add diced onion and sauté for about 4–5 minutes until soft. Stir in minced garlic and cook for one more minute.
  2. Mix in marinara sauce, crumbled turkey bacon, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Let simmer for approximately 10 minutes.
  3. For the béchamel: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and whisk in flour for about 1–2 minutes. Gradually add milk while stirring until thickened (approximately 5 minutes). Stir in Parmesan cheese and garlic powder; season with salt and pepper.
  4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a baking dish, layer meat sauce at the bottom followed by cooked lasagna noodles, béchamel sauce, mozzarella cheese, and cheddar cheese. Repeat layers until ingredients are used up; top with extra cheese.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden brown. Allow to rest for about 10 minutes before serving.
