  • 45 black peppercorns
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 3 green cardamom pods
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 12 tablespoons brown sugar (to taste)
  • 1 star anise (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small pot, bring water to a boil. Add black peppercorns, cloves, cardamom pods, and cinnamon stick. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
  2. Stir in the smoky black tea and steep for 3-4 minutes, depending on desired strength.
