Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 4 cinnamon sticks (or 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon)
  • 4 vanilla beans (or 4 teaspoons vanilla extract)
  • 2 star anises (optional)
  • 4 teaspoons loose-leaf black tea or 4 black tea bags (optional)
  • Honey or sweetener of choice

Instructions

  1. Boil water in a pot.
  2. Add cinnamon sticks and vanilla beans; cover and steep for about 10 minutes.
  3. If using black tea, add and brew for an additional 3-5 minutes.
  4. Heat milk in another pot until warm.
  5. Strain the infusion into the warm milk and stir in sweetener to taste.
